So … after about 2 weeks of really using the XJ after the rebuild it overheated. We pressure tested the radiator cap and it showed low PSI. Replaced that but still overheating and spewing coolant after even just short drives. We have been nervous about it since the first time that I towed with it since the rebuild as it has low oil pressure when warm. I thought it was just the oil I was using but apparently it’s not.
So, now I’m waiting to sell my house so that I can buy a new engine. Going to just suck it up and buy a long block so that I have a warranty and don’t have to deal with the 0331 head again. House should be ready for sale here within the next few days, market is hot here so hopefully it doesn’t take long so I can get back to driving it – and we’ll do the 4WD conversion, new springs and a few other things when we get the new engine.
